New four-part series in which Joanna Lumley travels through Greece and explores both the ancient and modern aspects of the country. Joanna begins her journey at the Parthenon in Athens, which was created by the ancient Greeks two and a half thousand years ago. From Athens, she travels around the southern region of Greece to the Peloponnese, visiting spectacular mythical and historic sites. En route, she meets marble-cutters at the Acropolis who use the same tools as their ancestors, villagers who communicate by whistling and a fisherman who takes her to the gates of the underworld. Finally, Joanna catches up with singer Nana Mouskouri at the amphitheatre of Epidavrus.
